The Association of Dance Competitions & Conventions (The ADCC) is a national nonprofit trade association for the dance competition industry governed by an 11-member Board of Directors and managed by Maxim Management, based in Sykesville, Maryland.
Our Members include Dance Conventions and Competitions and Business Partners who are vendors that provide products and services for the dance industry.
We provide education, professional development, and access to resources for our members. In addition we provide networking opportunities, a group buying program, marketing opportunities, and participation in our programs including our Annual Meeting & Industry Awards Gala, Industry Excellence & Achievement Awards, College Scholarship Program, the ADCC Studio of Excellence Awards, and The Competitive Advantage magazine.
Exciting new initiatives include group buying opportunities on a range of dance competition & convention products, media partnerships that boost brand recognition for our members, along with great professional development and money-saving opportunities for member competitions and conventions at the ADCC Annual Meeting & Gala in September.
The Association of Dance Competitions & Conventions (The ADCC) was founded in 2014 to support the 300+ dance competition and convention owners, 40,000+ dance studios, and hundreds of dance merchants across the country as we work together to expand and professionalize our industry.
The ADCC’s membership grew out of a previous organization, the FDC (Federation of Dance Competitions), but The ADCC is a new and completely separate legal entity. The vision for the new organization was to create a nonprofit trade association where competition owners could come together as colleagues in a professional, supportive environment to serve and support the membership through networking, education, and access to resources, and camaraderie.
The key for The ADCC’s rapid growth has been a shared belief in the organization’s purpose and mission. “We want every competition that has been in business for at least three years and holds at least eight events per year to become an ADCC Member,” says Executive Director Rachel Brooke. “We want The ADCC to represent the full range of competitions and conventions in the industry. Only in this way can we have a trade association that represents everyone’s interests.”
The ADCC is governed by a 11-member Board of Directors and managed by Rachel Brooke of Maxim Management based in Sykesville, Maryland.
